The Therapeutic Arts & Performance Studio (TAPS) offers adult consumers of the Redwood Coast Regional Center the opportunity to express their creativity in various artistic forms.

What is TAPS?

In 2009, the TAPS program was created to offers adult consumers of Redwood Coast Regional Center the opportunity to express their creativity in various artistic forms.

Through a studio/gallery model, TAPS artists receive education, exposure to multicultural arts, hands-on experience with 2D, 3D, and performative art modalities, and opportunities for exhibition and community participation.

If an artist is interested, finished art projects may be prepared by the studio for professional exhibition and public sale.

Our goal is to empower artists, boosting their self-esteem and confidence as they see their ideas come to fruition and their work appreciated by the community. TAPS provides artists individual choice within a creative studio setting.

Who’s Eligible?

To qualify, individuals must meet these criteria:

Age: At least 18 years old.
Be a Redwood Coast Regional Center consumer.
Residence: Live in Ukiah, Willits, Redwood Valley, or Hopland.
Be interested in pursuing your creativity and be willing and able to work with us.
Be willing to explore your creative talents while having fun!

What activities does TAPS offer?

Six (6) hour sessions, up to four (4) days per week.
Various art forms including painting, printmaking, drawing, ceramics, mosaics, clay, and occationally performing arts and media arts.
A primary experienced art teacher as well as many guest artists teaching their specialties.
Freedom of individual choice and expression inside a supportive and creative studio setting.

Cost/Funding Sources

Fees are covered by the Regional Center for eligible consumers. Additional donations for TAPS have been provided by the Angle Fund and Vanguard Charitable.
