Information & Assistance

Our Senior Information and Assistance Community Resources Specialist can help connect you with the services in Lake and Mendocino Counties.

What is I&A?

The Senior Information & Assistance Program (I&A) is a free service of Community Care and the Area Agency on Aging for Lake and Mendocino Counties. I&A’s goal is to educate older adults about services that can help them maintain their independence.

Who’s Eligible?

To qualify, individuals must meet these criteria:

  • Age: At least 60 years old (or calling on behalf of someone 60+).

  • Residency within Lake or Mendocino County.

What services are offered by I&A?

If you or a loved one needs help at home and aren’t sure where to start, our Senior Information & Assistance program is here for you. We’ll guide you through the services available in your area, help determine eligibility, and connect you with the right resources.

Whether you’re trying to understand the difference between Home Health and In-Home Supportive Services, or between Medicare and Medi-Cal, we can help walk you through it. If getting out of the house has become difficult, we can also connect you with home-delivered meals, friendly calls, or even in-home visits.

No matter your situation, our team is here to listen, answer your questions, and link you with the support that best fits your needs.

Who pays for I&A?

Senior Information & Assistance is funded by the Area Agency on Aging of Lake and Mendocino Counties, Community Care, and other sources. (Unlike some referral agencies, we are non-profit and never accept payments to make referrals to any business or company.)

What is the Senior Resource Directory?

The Senior Resource Directory is a physical directory produced by the Senior Information & Assistance Program of Community Care in collaboration with the local Area Agency on Aging.

Resources and information contained in the directory are specific to the needs of the counties’ older adults and may include both non-profit and for-profit service providers.

For more infomation about the directory and informaiton on how you can receive a copy, please visit the Senior Resource Directory page here:
